Fundraising and Public Awareness for Casa di Kim
Interact Rome International leads and supports fundraising and public awareness initiatives in favor of Casa di Kim. From 1997 l’Associazione Kim Onlus (a.k.a. Casa di Kim) aims at offering shelter, medical treatment and all basic needs to children that are seriously ill and suffer from economic hardship and social exclusion. Patients at Casa di Kim frequently come from countries at war or without an appropriate health care system. Children are accompanied by a parent or legal guardian who stays at Casa di Kim during the time of the treatment. Casa di Kim aims at building public awareness about the benefits of social inclusion, solidarity and service to others.
INTERNATIONAL UNDERSTANDING PROJECTS:
1. Diplomacy Education Embassy Adoption Program
Interact Rome International participates in the Embassy Adoption Program implemented by Global Action in Italy. Students have meetings with the Head of Mission and other members of the diplomatic corps of the Embassy that adopts the Interact Club each year. Interactors study the country in depth and have the support of embassy staff to broaden their knowledge in thematic areas related to the country assigned.
Interact Rome International is honored to have been adopted by the Embassy of Norway in 2018/2019. This is a unique opportunity for our Interactors to learn by doing with the mentoring of international experts in the field.
Time dedicated to activities under the Embassy Adoption Program are recognized as “Alternanza Scuola-Lavoro.”
2. Global Action Model United Nations (GAMUN) Headquarters of the World Food Programme, May 7-10, 2019
Interact Rome International participates in the Netherlands and Italy Model United Nations Program implemented by Global Action/Diplomacy Education. The program was established in 2017 by the Embassy of the Netherlands and the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. It aims at offering students a unique opportunity to study the UN Security Council. After taking part in the Embassy Adoption Program, students are invited to participate in the NIMUN simulation at a conference held once a year at a UN Rome-Based-Agency (RBA) and represent the country that they have been studying.
To follow the proceedings of the Global Action Model United Nations taking place at the headquarters of the World Food Programme from May 7 to May 10, 2019, please follow us on instagram and visit our dedicated page: Interact Rome International at the Global Action Model United Nations
